I’ve been writing professionally for thirty years, but I’ve been putting words on the page ever since I could pick up a pencil.
As a child I was inspired by authors such as Shel Silverstein, Judy Blume, and Tolkien. I was an avid reader and by the time I was ten I was reading authors such as Hesse, Tolstoy, Hemingway, and Persig. This lead me to experimenting with writing my own short stories.
However, I didn’t get the courage to submit anything for publication until I was in my mid-twenties. I was surprised to learn that magazines would be interested in my work and that people would actually read and respond to it.
Mind. Blown.
I never expected to be a full-time writer. Doesn’t quite pay the bills. So I work a full-time “real” job during the days and work on my stories at night and on weekends. I also experiment with podcasting, painting, and posting videos on YouTube.
There you have it. I hope you enjoy the things I post here, find some inspiration, and maybe a laugh or two.
Cheers!
