Nothing extravagant for this week’s Floral Friday. Instead, I thought I’d share this little mushroom. It may be the tiniest one I’ve ever seen.
I was rolling up the garden hose the other day and happened to look down. There, amongst the brown and gray fallen leaves was a little speck of white. I went back inside to grab my phone for a quick photo (funny that we now can say “grab my phone” instead of “grab my camera”).
I took several shots, but the little guy was so small I couldn’t get a crisp photo. Still, I think this gives you an idea of how small it was.
Have you seen tiny mushrooms like this?

So cute π
My thought, as well! Thanks for stopping by to enjoy this little guy. π
You are welcome π
This is really tiny and looks fragile.
I thought the same thing. I was afraid to get too close to it. π
That is an adorable little ‘shroom! Kudos to you for noticing AND documenting it! I wonder if it knows its famous? π I feel like there could be a story there….
I imagine it knows how cute it is, but it’s probably too humble to brag. π
I hope there’s a story brewing, too. πβπ«
That thing is, may I say it, adorable. ha ha
You may! I never knew mushrooms could be described that way, but it fits. π
Mushrooms are interesting. I’m always happy to see them in my garden, but haven’t seen a little ghostly one like that.
I feel the same, Audrey. I think seeing mushrooms in the garden is a good sign!
As for this little guy, I’m waiting to see if there will be more or if he’s a one-off. π
I think of the ghost world of mushrooms. They don’t photosynthesize, live in the shadows and have somber colours. And there she stands.
(Would putting your “camera” in ‘photo’ setting help with getting the little fellow into focus?)
They are amazing living things, aren’t they?
I should have grabbed my camera instead of using the camera feature on my cell phone. I was over eager to capture this little guy.
A cute little mushroom.
I agree, Nusrat. π
That mushroom was happy that you took its picture!
I think it was trying to show me its best side. π
Oh wow thatβs actually pretty cute! A little reminder that life will find a way.
Glad you like this little one, Wayne. And you’re correct, it always finds a way. π
Omg, look at that tiny cute babe poking out!
It cheers up the photo so much!
Recently I have been keeping the balcony furniture out.
Since we had nothing but rain, mushrooms started growing out ofit.
Not sure if I can make a fancy mushroom risotto with it or send people up to space with a magic mushroom cake. Hahah.
For now, I will just let them grow as they are. And who knows, they might come in handy in some way π€
LOL! I’d be careful when it comes to deciding whether or not to eat them! Too many look-alike poisonous ones. But I can tell you that they make amazing fertilizer. Put on some gloves, pull them up and put them in a paper bag for a few days, the bury them in the dirt around your plants. π
I’m glad you liked the photo, too! Thanks!
