I made a pizza this past weekend and cooked it on the upper rack, and as I always do, I put a baking pan beneath it to catch any drips. When later pulled the baking pan out to wash it, I saw a photographic moment.
On first glance, I thought it looked like a drip painting or maybe some acrylic paint that was splattered on a canvas.
An odd subject for a photograph, no doubt, but I found it interesting and thought I’d share.
And yes, I gave it a thorough scrubbing after taking the photo.
Out of curiosity, what does it look like to you?

without reading, this reminded me at first of blood splatters, which took me back to reading murder mystery to my dogs in middle school like they would understand!
I think someone else in the comments noted a similar view of blood splatter.
I’m sure your pups enjoyed story time!
It looks like night time, with light shining mysteriously through a garden. There’s a suspense in the air…Something expectant about the mystery. Something exciting..
maybe angels or fairies will appear and the whole place will be drenched with a sacred glow. You could call it from the mundane to the sacred. 💫✨🌟
Oh, I love this, Morag! The little things that we catch out of the corner of the eye, the fleeting shadow, the fae teasing us… 🧚
I’m glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed writing spontaneously 😀
I am sorry but at first (before reading the post) it looked like blood spots and I remembered all the murder mysteries I have read and seen. How the mind works 😮
LOL! Another commenter noted the same thing, so you are in good company! And yes, I think your recent murder mystery binge may have influenced your view. 🤣
🥰🙏💗💗💗💞💞💞
♥️ 🙂
I need to find a way to slow down life and start noticing things like this…instead of jumping straight into dealing with them! 💞 It looks like it could be a satellite image of another world, the silver dots are buildings, the dark circles and the top right side some sort of vegetation growth?
What a fantastic observation, Dawn! I few others have noted a space or planetary landscape in this photo.
A little pause, a longer look, and suddenly we see things we missed earlier. 🙂
My high school art teacher once said we should photograph whatever you encounter. You have validated her maxim.
Thank you, Swabby. There are beautiful and interesting things everywhere if we just open our eyes.
Oh wow, this is so cool.
Next time, I will study my pans before scrubbing!
The silver spots remind of the first time I used a soldering iron 😀 i was supposed to “glue” some tiny electrical components together, instead I made a huge mess with large bubbles, damaging the components 😅
Ps. For cleaning such pans, I use soda carbonate and hot water.
Even let it boil for 10 or so minutes.
It helps a great deal 🙂
LOL…thank you for the tip, Andrea!
I see what you mean about the solder drops. Funny how our eyes can spot familiar things in an unfamiliar place. 🙂
It looks like some sort of cosmic event.
A few others have commented on a similar theme, Audrey. I think that’s fantastic. 🪐
Surface of Moon
Very interesting, Nusrat. I see that now, as well. 🙂
Richard, you taught us there is beauty even in an unwashed pan.
It looks like a solar system, or one of those photos from a space telescope.
Very cool! I like that view, Michelle. 🪐
A pan that needs a good scrubbing!
LOL! And indeed, it did get one, Sheree! 🤣
Good to read Richard
We miss seeing beauty in many and unusual places unless we sharpen our awareness.
I agree, Jasper. I like to look at things from different angles and see if there’s some new beauty to discover.
There probably are planets in the universe that sort of look like this.
I’m sure you’re correct. It does look a bit alien. 👽
Amazing!!!
Thank you so much, Luisa!
My pleasure 🌹🌹🌹
The surface of the moon.
That’s a wonderful view, Miss Parker.
It’s very interesting for me.😲
Thank you, Hitomi. 😊
That’s pretty cool. Looks like a blood bath to me 🙈🤣
Oh, that’s interesting, Wayne. Luckily, no one was hurt during the making of the pizza. 🙂
Phew 😅
To me it looks like red splotches.
So sort of like the ink blot tests? 🙂
