I was flattered to learn that a recent post of mine – Red Abstract (Two Versions) – inspired another blogger to write a short story. Michelle, over at Book Quotes (Mostly) Out of Context, posted her story earlier this week and I found it a wonderful accompaniment to my canvases.
If you aren’t familiar with Michelle’s blog, she post read-alongs, where she posts regularly about the wide-variety of books she reads. But her entries are just reviews. She explores the context of the books (both fiction and non-fiction), how she interprets the texts, and discusses how the books relate to things in her life. It’s part book review, part dissection, and part philosophy. Definitely a great blog to follow.
If you would, check out Michelle’s story – it’s surreal and strange, but like I note above, it’s perfectly in line with my abstract paintings. Let her know that you think.

The story has a surreal nature to it. It was somewhat relatable, too.

I love blogging referrals. I recently discovered a blogger who people who read my entries knew and appreciated.
“Imitation is the highest compliment.” Or carrying your thought further. Real connection.
I agree, Jasper. It’s wonderful to know others are inspired and affected by our own creativity.
Recently someone did a glowing review of my blog site. A humbling and encouraging moment.
And well-deserved!
Vaguely remember the paintings and wish I could have seen them again while reading her imaginative story sequence. Wonderful synergy here, Richard. Also commented on her blog.
