With summer here drawing to a close, I felt compelled to try to do something to remember all the flowers I saw over the past few months. On all the dog walks and hikes in the woods, I’ve been lucky enough to see a wide variety of blooms in a bunch of different environments – shaded woods, open fields, and even a few around my house.
I didn’t use any photos as source material for these paintings. Instead, I tried to convey the impressions of the blooms, how they made me feel, the traces they left in my memory.

Is there one that stands out to you?

I think #2 is my favorite 💞💞💞
I’m glad to know you enjoyed it, Dawn! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Few lines for abstract flower -3
The flower descends in a whisper of magenta and gold,
Its vibrant season concluded, its beautiful story told.
This surrender to earth is no end, but a quiet, hopeful start,
For every falling petal makes fertile the seed in the heart.
The beauty that left is the promise that waits, patiently, below,
Ensuring the glory of the spring that is yet to grow. – love Aparna ♥️
How lovely, Aparna! Thank you so much for sharing this. 💐
Pleasure was all mine 😇🤝
How delightful
Many thanks, Sheree!
The purple one stood out, only or maybe mainly, because it was part of the collection. The purple painting captured the essence of a cacophony of flowers where some stand out more than others, while others create a vibrant background even though individually they might be overlooked.
I appreciate your insight, Jasper. That’s what I was trying to convey with that particular canvas, so I guess I got it right!
Thanks for stopping by.
They are fabulous! All of them!
You’re too kind, Luisa! Thank you so much!
🙏💙🙏
All our awesome!
I like picture 2 the most, colour wise.
But last one reminds mr of dandelions which hav always been interesting me due to their transormation. There is something very poetic about them! 🙂
So now that Fall is appproaching, next will be a mushroom theme? 😄
I think I once saw a documentary about how they are connected to basically our entire.
Where flowers fascinate me during the summer months, mushrooms do that in the Fall 🙂
Thank you, Andrea!
I may do mushrooms. I have quite a few photos of the mushrooms I’ve encountered both in my yard and on my hikes in the woods. We’ll see!
And you’re right about their connectivity. One of the coolest living things on our planet!
Enjoyed all of them and my favorite is the colors in Abstract 2. Great job, Richard.
That’s great to hear, Pat. Thank you!
