There’s a theory in quantum mechanics called the many-worlds interpretation that, among other things, suggests that every decision we make creates a new timeline – or new reality – on a quantum level. Each of these new timelines opens up new outcomes for us, and these splits go on indefinitely.
So, for example, when you approach a fork in the road and you almost go to the right, then change your mind and go to the left, that creates a new timeline. It’s theoretically possible that a part of you continues on the original timeline and another follows the new timeline. And so on ad infinitum.
A fork in the road
A million paths I can take
But I am still me
It’s almost overwhelming to think of all the possible outcomes for each decision I make and all the new paths I’m possibly creating.
What do you think about the possibility of the many-worlds theory?
RB
SO many paths… and they all lead back to you!

(PS – I did a shoutout of your blog on mine today, hope you don’t mind!

Oh, that’s so nice of you, Linda! I appreciate the kind words you shared in your post.
Thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂
If that’s the case, I think my timeline would resemble a web created by a drunken spider with vestibular disease…..
LOL! That’s entirely relatable and a perfect metaphor, Dawn!
The possibilities/potentialities are mind-boggling.
They truly are, my friend. Thanks for stopping by!
Very interesting topic!
Some people say money can change a person, usually not for the better.
But I think I’d have to agree with what your wrote… i’d still be me.
Honestly, my OCD doesn’t allow me to step outside of my routine too much. So I’d probably still sit on my kitchen chair, draw and listen to audiobooks no matter what my bank account says.
And I am not sure if a person can change much without extern interference…
I will keep this in mind if I ever go through a big change again! 😄
I think we can change, yet still be ourselves. It’s just the changes are subtle.
Of course, I’m much like you and have my comfortable routines to keep me on track…most of the time!
Fun to ponder but too early for wine to aid in the contemplation.
A bit of a dilemma then, maybe we should ponder it a bit later Pat?
I will, if you will. What shall we drink and toast to? 🥂
I hope I’m getting an invite to this gathering of minds! 🙂
Champagne, obvs, and set world to rights.
