Our older dog, Peppa, had a lot of abuse in her background. When we adopted her, she was incredibly skittish and fearful of everything. Any little noise, like setting a glass down on a tabletop, would send her running to the bedroom to hide under the bed. It wasn’t until we adopted Chili that things started to really turn around.
The two of them bonded instantly, became best friends, and their interactions always make me smile. They happily share their chew toys with one another, lay on the couch together when they nap, and love to chase each other around the yard. Chili has helped Peppa become more confident and shown her that life is good.
I thought I’d share a short video of the two of them playing. It’s amazing to see Peppa’s progress. She’s the tan one, Chili is the brindle.
I hope this brought a smile to your face.

I adore seeing them come out of their shells and blossom. Such a heartwarming tale! πππ
Thanks, Dawn. It feels so good to see Peppa forgetting her past traumas and enjoying life. Thanks for stopping by!
We are social beings at our core. I come alive in a different way when I meet up with someone that I connect with, finding myself energized or my outlook on things shifting.
Dogs are pack animals. So it’s not surprising that something very good happens when they connect. It must be wonderful and satisfying to experience that with your rescue dog.
Oh, it is, my friend. I feel incredibly lucky to see them so happy every day.
Beautiful. I love it. π
Thank you! I felt I needed to share the good vibes. π
Glad you did. π
Just what we need to see on an overcast Monday morning Dogs just want to have fun… Good share, Richard.
Glad to hear that, Pat. π
They are simply wonderful πΎππΎ
Absolutely, Luisa! I’m glad you enjoyed seeing them play. π

yes- definitely a smile! I love rescues- have always rescued myself and my dog JoJo is about 10 years old(the vet estimates). I rescued her just 2 years ago and she too is skittish. She’s been able to settle down a lot but it’s still with her. I just wanted to make sure she has a good and stable and loving home for as many years as I can! Your dogs look wonderful and happy- thank you for sharing!
Oh, that’s awesome! The animal shelter had to estimate Peppa’s age, as well, so we think she’s between 7 – 9 years old.
We found that giving her some Rescue Remedy has helped with her anxiety (not promoting anything, just sharing the experience). It’s an organic/holistic tincture we give her daily. You may want to look into it to see if it may help your JoJo.
Thanks for commenting!
It did bring a smile to my face. The two are obviously the best of friends.
I’m glad to hear that, Sheree. Cheers!
Is Peppa the light brown one? The one top, in the picture?
She looks a look like a Staffy. I have some experiences with them because friends of mine have one. She is so full of energy and joy and soulfull eyes!
Iβll never forgot the moment she laid on her back for me to give her belly rubs. The sign of ultimate trust!
Dogs can never fail to make me smile and the video of Peppa and Chili was just delightful!
So happy the pair of them got to help out each other and get on so well. There is nothing more hearwarming than seeing two dogs curled up to each other, sleeping ππ
Yes, Peppa is the light brown one who likes to roll in the grass….and occasionally the dirt! She’s some sort of Staffy mix, we think.
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing these two mutts acting silly. π
