One of my favorite things to do is go outside in the early morning and enjoy the new day. The sun coming up over the horizon, the early birds singing their morning songs, and the dew on the grass and leaves. As the sun begins to peak over the tree line, the dew begins to sparkle like the stars fading overhead.
Microcosms of life, little galaxies dotted
along the expanse of a banana leaf.
Dew drops sparkling like diamonds
in the night sky.
I stand in awe, watching as the sun rises
and the morning light illuminate them,
stirring life from the primordial stew
until the sun breaks the horizon
and diminishes them,
evaporating them into the warming air
only to start again
tomorrow.

I like the ‘little galaxies’ metaphor, very evocative!
Many thanks, Stefan! I seemed appropriate the way the light was hitting them. Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely capture of the morning ‘s rapture. 🌅
I’m flattered, Pat, and honored by your bit of rhyme! Cheers!

Oh, I love the magic of this poem!
I’m glad to hear that, Luisa! I often feel like dawn and dusk are magical times of day. Thank you for stopping by!
You are so very welcome my dear friend!
It is always my pleasure!
Your post made me think of this song:

Excellent song, my friend! A perfect accompaniment to this poem!
Definitely sounds idylic!
I’ll have to wait for the fall to experience though. Because Denmark is quite far up North, the sunrise is at 4 in the summer!
Wow! I forget you’re much further north than me.
Besides, fall will be much nicer….and not quite so hot!
I’m still in the land of nod
LOL…I’ll try to keep it down, Sheree. 🙂
Thanks
Nice post. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely images. I especially liked the “little galaxies dotted along the expanse of a banana leaf.” Dark and early mornings are my favorite places to be. Nice job.
Thanks, Devonne. I often wonder if we are simply living in a bead of dew on some giant alien banana leaf. 🙂
