Despite being a writer and a (questionable) painter, I’ve never been much for self-promotion. I’m an introvert at heart and singing my own praises is awkward and uncomfortable.
However, I’ve been encouraged to begin showing off some of my visual art projects here on my website. Which, I suppose, is appropriate since I already have a page for my writing. Besides, why call this site an exercise in self-indulgence if I don’t indulge myself?

With that said, I’ve added a new page, Visual Arts, and have started uploading some of my work. While I paint often, most of it is practice. I experiment with different brushes and techniques, then paint over it and try something new. Partly because I’m a believer in impermanence, but also because it saves me money on canvases and I don’t have a lot of room to store it all.
In a way, it’s not too unlike writing. I can type out story ideas, maybe a few paragraphs or pages, but if I don’t like what I’ve written or the direction the story is taking, I can delete it and move on.
So far, I’ve uploaded several of the paintings I’m proud of and I will be posting some of my photography soon. Of course, original works of the paintings and high-quality prints of the photos are available for purchase if you feel so inclined. Just reach out to me via my Contact page and I’ll quote you a price that includes framing and shipping.
I hope you take a few minutes to view my artistic endeavors and let me know what you think.
